F!Sk® Self-Assessment
Welcome to F!Sk®, the Framework for Innovation Skills created by Celsio.
The F!Sk® framework provides standardised definitions for the full range of innovation skills and competency levels that a team needs to have to drive effective and sustainable organisational innovation. F!Sk® is fully aligned to all aspects of ISO 56000, the international suite of standards for Innovation Management, and has been developed in partnership with leading academics and experienced innovation practitioners.
Innovation is a key factor in driving growth and efficiency, and the need to transform is becoming ever more acute. Any organisation looking to create a culture open to change and innovation must establish which skills are required to innovate, and then to ensure the team develops these skills.
There are no right or wrong answers in this assessment. This self-assessment is designed to allow you to capture where you feel your personal innovation strengths lie, and to identify areas for personal development. The report you receive after completing the self-assessment will be useful as a personal benchmark for your future development of innovation skills.
Thank you!

How to complete the assessment
For each of the innovation skills below, select the competency level that best describes your current experience - not where you'd like to be. If a skill is not relevant to your role, select N/A.
Read each skill description carefully and choose the level that most honestly reflects where you are today.
All you need to do is read each skill definition and choose the option that you think best represents your experience with that skill. And remember, this is a self-assessment tool and only gives an indication of your innovation skills capability, as you perceive it. Its primary purpose is to give a starting point for your own Personal Development Plan (PDP) - an action plan to improve your innovation capability and confidence.
See an example
To show you how the questions are structured, here's a familiar example. Your answer won't be included in your report!
Preparing food daily for consumption at home. Ensuring the meals are healthy, nutritious, and satisfying, and contribute to a balanced menu that falls within the food budget.
How to complete the assessment
This assessment uses a two-stage approach for each competence. There are no right or wrong answers - choose what honestly reflects where you are today, not where you aspire to be.
Read the question and choose the option (A–D) that best describes your current level of involvement in this area. If you are not involved at all, select A - the competence will be recorded as not applicable and you move on immediately.
Based on your Step 1 answer, you will see one or two descriptions of how people work at different proficiency levels. Read each carefully and choose the one that most honestly reflects how you work today. If neither fits yet, choose None of these - this means you are developing towards the foundation level for this competence.
Your responses are used to generate a personalised report showing your current proficiency level for each competence and suggested next steps for development.
